BANDA ACEH – Aceh is confident of Malaysia’s technological and financial expertise in the agriculture sector and its ability to assist the territory in developing this sector, says Governor Dr Zaini Abdullah.
Inviting Malaysian businessmen to explore the many business opportunities available in the territory, he said Aceh would ensure there is no obstacles in carrying out two-way business and investments.
Speaking at a dinner Saturday night, held in conjunction with the Aceh-Malaysia Business Forum and the three-day visit by Agriculture and Agro-Based Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob to Aceh, Zaini said he was impressed with Malaysia’s latest agro-food industry policy.
He said although many countries had expressed their keenness to invest in Aceh, he preferred investments from Malaysia as both shared similar culture.
Meanwhile, Ismail Sabri said following his visit, ministry officials would conduct discussions with officials from the governor’s office to identify potential projects that can be ventured into on a joint venture basis.
“Malaysia will ensure the agriculture projects jointly undertaken will be based on a win-win situation and of benefit to both sides,” he said.
